L\u2019obra s\u2019inicia amb un clima <em><strong>Misterioso<\/strong><\/em> sota una din\u00e0mica que oscil\u00b7la entre ppp i mp, on predomina el soroll dels atacs i el de les claus per damunt de la pr\u00f2pia veu dels instruments. Sense interrupci\u00f3 arriba el segon temps <em><strong>Giusto<\/strong><\/em>, molt m\u00e9s conc\u00eds i gener\u00f3s pel que fa a la sonoritat global. El tercer temps <em><strong>Dolente, senza tempo<\/strong><\/em> ens ofereix un constant di\u00e0leg entre les diferents veus del quartet per mitj\u00e0 de gestos d\u2019un gran efecte auditiu. I en el <strong><em>Meccanico<\/em><\/strong> final tornem a una textura lineal que culmina en un secci\u00f3 clim\u00e0tica elaborada a partir de l\u2019\u00fas obstinat del picats m\u00faltiples.
